Our peacemaker program in third grade will be in full force all year long. It is inevitable for conflict to arise in third grade as we get more comfortable with each other. This focus helps your student see conflict as an opportunity to bring glory to God, helping make the decision to handle struggles responsibly the way God intended. Throughout the year I will be sending home packets that you can look through with your student. It opens up a door of discussion for this big developmental year of third grade.
Our focus this week was on conflict being a slippery slope. Check out the diagram and ask your student, "when conflict arises which part of the slippery slope do you tend lean towards?" Most of you know the answer already, but a lot of great stories and conversations came out of this one question this week.

On Monday I will collect four devotional journal entries. Looking at what is being written, you are having some great discussions. Thank you for devoting your time to walk with your student through devotions and discussing how to live out God's word in daily life. I pray that God continues to lead your discussion and guide your student into a deeper understanding of his/her relationship with God.
On Tuesday we will be walking over to Hyvee for our cooking class (dirt makes your snack). We will leave here a little before 2:00.
Thank you for everything you do and blessings on all God brings you to and through this coming week.
