Hello 3rd Grade Families,

I pray you all had a wonderful week! Our classroom was pretty eventful this week with our cooking class, FIT presentation, and preparing our lessons to teach the 1st graders about the lifecycle of a sunflower.

Then Math your student has been working on three and four digit numbers. We are working hard on finding patterns, missing numbers on a number line, and rounding to the nearest 10, 100, 1,000. In order to be able to do these things we also have been working on the value of each digit in a number. We write in standard form(number form), word form, and expanded form (245= 200+40+5). There will be a practice test on Sept. 26 and our first math test on Oct. 1. I encouraged your student to bring home the Math book and do some practice problems with someone before the test. Some great practice pages would be on pages 22-26 and any pages prior to these practice pages.

Here are some games that could be used as well.

Two more weeks till book reports. I have heard some great ideas from the students about their reports, and I look forward to the presentations on Sep. 28.

See you Sunday at the pancake brunch if you can make it to the school from 10:30am-1:00pm. Thank you for everything that you do, blessings on all God brings you to and through for this coming week.
